Samantha George
BA (Hons), MBACP

BPC Registered Psychotherapist

Samantha is a qualified psychodynamic psychotherapist and counsellor, and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP).

She works with adults experiencing a range of difficulties, including anxiety, depression, bereavement and loss, low self-esteem, relationship or family difficulties, and the impact of trauma or painful childhood experiences. She also welcomes those who would like to understand themselves and their relationships more deeply, even if there is no particular crisis bringing them to therapy.

Sometimes, the reasons for seeking support are less clear. There may be a sense that something doesn’t feel right, a feeling of being overwhelmed, or recurring patterns that leave someone feeling unhappy, frustrated or stuck. Samantha offers space to explore these feelings without needing to have everything worked out before beginning.

Her psychodynamic approach explores how past and present experiences and relationships can shape the way people feel about themselves and relate to others. Through this exploration, she supports clients in developing greater self-awareness and making sense of difficulties that may have felt confusing or hard to change.

Samantha recognises that beginning therapy can feel like a significant step, particularly when it involves speaking about something for the first time. She offers an accepting, non-judgemental environment where clients can begin with whatever feels most important and explore at their own pace.

Sessions are usually held weekly at the same time, offering consistency and allowing the therapeutic relationship and work to develop over time.
