Frequently Asked Questions
What should I bring to my first class or treatment?
Please wear comfortable, appropriate activewear. We kindly ask that you remove your shoes and leave coats, bags and footwear on the hooks and racks provided. For Reformer Pilates, we recommend wearing grippy socks for safety and stability.
For treatments and therapies, your practitioner will confirm any specific requirements with you before your appointment.
Do I need prior experience or a certain fitness level to join classes? Which class is best for beginners?
Not at all. We offer a full range of classes for beginners, mixed abilities, and more advanced levels. Each class is clearly categorised on our timetable, website and app.
Our classes are intentionally smaller than traditional gyms, allowing our teachers to deliver tailored, attentive sessions that adapt to individual needs.
What’s the difference between Mat Pilates, Reformer Pilates, Barre, Resistance Bands and Circuits?
Mat Pilates: Body-weight exercises performed on a mat, focusing on posture, strength and flexibility.
Reformer Pilates: Performed on a specialised machine with springs and pulleys to add resistance, ideal for alignment and full-body conditioning.
Barre: A blend of ballet-inspired movements, Pilates and strength training, often using a barre for balance.
Resistance Bands: Exercises using bands to add controlled resistance and build muscle strength.
Circuits: A more dynamic, fast-paced class rotating through a series of exercises for overall fitness and stamina.
