Belinda Shapps

BA (Hons) PG Dip MBACP (Accred)

Counsellor / Therapist

Belinda describes herself as a humanistic integrative therapist. In other words, she has been trained to understand and work with a wide variety of issues that clients may present with. This includes subjects such as anxiety, depression, bereavement, loss, abuse, women’s issues, life transitions and much more.

Belinda likes to emphasise that as important as theory is, the key to successful therapy is the relationship that takes place between the client and therapist in the room. One size does not fit all and each client is treated with skills and experience tailored to their issue be that something from their past or an issue that needs help unravelling in their present. The relationship between the therapist and client is a unique one and she truly believe that it is this connection that leads to a successful therapeutic outcome.

Belinda completed her counselling training in London, having studied for a Diploma and Advanced Diploma in Humanistic Integrative Counselling. She is an accredited member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP).

‘More and more research studies…. demonstrate that it is the relationship between the client and the psychotherapist, more than any other factor, that determines the effectiveness of psychotherapy.’ (Petruska Clarkson).
